After crash landing in a midwestern town, the Predator vs. Aliens saga continues this time with a small town as their background.

Picking up exactly where the abysmal first film left off, AvP2 finds that Alien/Predator hybrid creature causing the Predator ship to crash land in a small Coloardo town and reignite the fued when a lone Predator comes to Earth to stop the Hybrid alien. I know that most of us had several reservations about this film, I will say the hardcore blood and gore certainly makes this film a huge improvement over the nutuered first film.

The plot is simple, the characters are one dimensional, but the action is pretty cool, the blood is red and flowing and there is some cool fight scenes between the Predator and the Aliens. Is it a great film, not really-but it's not a horrible. I don't understand why only a single Predator comes to stop the Alien hordes, but there are a cool few moments when we finally get to see the Predator's home world. However most of the major fight scenes are a little too dark to make out everything that is going on. And the darkness prevents us from getting a really good look at the Alien/Predator hybrid who seemed to be really cool.

I hope people can see this film as an example as to why not make these kinds of films PG-13, the action and gore are much needed to help tell the story and make is visceral for the audience. This film is what AvP should have been from the beginning, I am tempted to forget the previous film ever exsisted and simply reference this one as the sole AvP film. It's also very odd to this reviewer how both films could have been written by the same guy, yet one have everything a fan could want and the other be so lackluster that Im surprised they even made a sequel for me to review.

I know this review is tad bit on the late side, and it's theatrical run is probably almost over, but this was a fun film that delivered us the goods of what we wanted to see happen in an AvP film. If you get a chance I suggest seeing it, if not this one is a for-sure rental.
