I'm a cautious man when it comes to spending cash, as our budget does not allow for a great deal of extravagance, so when I wanted to enhance our movie time together I bought a real cheapie sound package at a discount. You know, just to see if it really made any difference. The place was clearing them out and it was a no name knock-off I picked up for $35.00. 45w. I figured what the hell.
I loved it. So much so, that when the dvd player packed it in after 6 months I desperately wanted another sound system. Only this time a better one. As much as I love watching films, going back to the standard sound of the tv only was depressing enough that I had no desire to put anything in the dvd player.
SO yesterday the 13th I went on the hunt for a replacement. I had been scanning the papers for months looking for deals and kept coming up empty.
That tight budget again.
I thought if all else failed I could get an adapter for a PC sound system and go that route. That's another story. To cut this short, what I ended up with was a Zenith ZH-T2025F. Twas on sale. In my budget of $150.00. All in, including taxes and 3 year warranty, $145.16. So I found a brand name, with a decent dvd player with tons of features. USB port, am/fm tuner etc.
Once again I am a happy man.
The next thing to do is to replace the monster 32 inch CRT with a big flatscreen. Sadly, that will only happen after I rebuild the kitchen.
So what do you have in your living room, den or family room?
Any horror stories?
Any recommendations?
