I spent the whole day Friday in the studio building jungle huts and watching the first three Tremors films. What a gawd dam gas. I enjoyed all three and can't wait until I see the 4th.

Watched Tony Jaa's The Protector last night. Once again, not a real happy movie, but a great film nonetheless. Some beautiful elephants in that movie, and it really shows the connection between the Thai people and their elephants.

I watched Cage last night. Not my kind of movie really but hubby wanted to see it. Not that I minded watching Lou Ferrigno (the Hulk) without a shirt and green paint fighting in a cage.

Speaking of Nick Cage, I went to see Ghost Rider. 'Twas pretty good coming from someone who knows nothing about the comics. I mean it was no 300, which I also went to see (I had a movie seeing weekend) but it was better than I expected.

Saw Casino Royale a couple days ago. Boy, that guy must've been pumping iron since Layer Cake. I kinda liked it.

I also watched the Prestige a while back -- and I thought it rawked.
Anyone else see this? I think it's the closest we're going to come to see Batman versus Wolverine. And the winner was who I said it'd be all along... Flunky, I think you owe me some money!!! |

I am such a big Lovecraft fan and most of the films that pass for his mythos kinda leave me cold. In a bad way. Cthulhu Mansion was beyond bad, From Beyond was alright, it had the ookie tenacle thingies pretty much right but the atmoshpere was wrong, Die Monster Die was good, it had the atmosphere but not the monsters, In the Mouth of Madness was close but too surreal for my tastes, and the Dunwich Horror just came off as being a tad silly. Having said that I watched Dagon yesterday. I bought it at a discount store for less than 5 bucks and I figured what the heck.
I would have prefered a more period piece, say in New England at the turn of the century or in Victorian England, me being such a sucker for period films, but modern Spain worked pretty well. Bottom line? I liked it. Liked it enough to watch it again from time to time. The minions were nasty, the Queen was tres cool and the flaying scene...yikes! Yup, I did indeedy-do like this. Certainly worth 5 bucks. Tk |

Quote: I remember that! Yes... you're right. Horrible. Tonight is the second of our ongoing MONTHLY SCARY MOVIE NIGHT for our neices and nephews. We've got a houseful of teenagers, and we're watching: The Grudge 1 & 2, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, and I think Urban Legends: Bloody Mary. I haven't seen Grudge 2 yet, so I'm excited for that one, and I liked Emily Rose... but Bloody Mary... ehhhhhhh, I think I'll sit that one out. |
