Carmakers concerned over the gas prices? Yeah right. They all have oil interests. There have been several times that the car companies have squashed advances.
Many years ago there was someone who designed an engine that was something like 4 times as efficient and the big companies bought out the patent and buried it.
Look at electric cars. Idea been around for decades. Was even implemented as a city plan someplace in Arizona I believe. And then one day all the cars were
recalled and the charging stations removed. Hmmm... Am I conspiracy minded? Maybe to a degree, but I don't think it takes a coinspiracy mind to see things
like a war in Iraq started by a president with oil ties that results in skyrocketing gas prices along with record profits month after month for all those in
the oil business.

In spite of rising oil prices I read today that Dodge has presold all 6 or 7 thousand of it's new 2008 Dodge Challenger. The car sells for around $40,000
US and gets about the same mileage as a large SUV. If you still want one you're going to have to order a 2009. Seriously.
They are pretty sexy, though.

Yeah they are a sexy car. I LOVE em BUT I'm not stupid enought o buy one. Any car we do eventually buy will be a 4 door, great gas mileage vehicle.
