a no prize! it's been years since i've tried to win one of those!
unfortunately my tale is short n the telling. i wanted a spider, not a flaming skull spider or anything like that, just a spider. she had to go look in hers son who was in high school's science book. i said that one and the deed was done. my next one will be the family crest with the kids initials above or below it so i'm no help there. |

My suggestions. Make sure and eat beforehand. Could be a chance you get a little lightheaded. I ended up feeling faint on tat #3 (celtic tree) but it was because of location. She should pick out the tattoo before you get there. Get something that MEANS something to you, not that you just find in a book and say "oooh, that's pretty" 'cause chances are, couple years down the road, you'll look at it and go "ugh, why did I get this!" I believe that is all I have to offer :)

Nice ink, Jekyll, but the No-Prize goes to Backroads!!! Wear it with honour, good sir.
Btw, the wife got her 1st ink today, an intricately detailed pirate skull & crossbones in black & grey with our son's name and birth year beneath in. To quote the tattoo shops owner, "It looks badass!" The whole process took exactly 90 minutes and she took it like a trooper. Once it's healed up a bit we'll post some pics. Arrrrrr.

The guy that did that one wants to get me on his table now, aaaiiieeee!!! I'm sure we'll be back there, it's a talented shop but still reasonably
priced. The kid that did this one has only been tattooing for 2 years but he's already quite good. Unfortunately, my crappy little digital camera
didn't pick up stuff like the paisley bandana, or the detail on the flower in the eye socket or the jewelled bracelet on one of the bones.
What's more intimidating for me than the actual tattoo is the aftercare, especially since my job is physically demanding. I think I'd have to get it done on my holidays if I were to ever get one.
