No, not the Ace Frehley song, I was reading a bit about the upcoming electric car, the Chevy Volt. Unlike current hybrids, which have a completely separate
electric and gas motor for providing power to the car, the Volt runs completely off the electric motor, with the gas motor acting only as an electric generator

What a cool antique car! What make is it?

The Volt looks awesome, I don't know if my vehicle will last til 2011..but it would be prudent to wait for it! Gas just went to 4 bucks a gallon for
regular, just like they predicted for the first of June.. sorta makes you feel like someone is manipulating the prices to put us in a major squeeze. Everything
I read says this is supply and demand, but I got my serious doubts.

What I want is something the size of a mini Cooper with a small truck bed or flatdeck, in behind the cab big enough to get a 6 foot 2x4 in it. Run the damn
thing with a 450cc Honda bike motor that gets 50MPG. Perfect. At 2 bucks a litre it would still be under 50 bucks to fill and run for two weeks and be useful.
Longer road trips I'd rent a car.
